Yoga Sanctuary of Belleville FAQ

General Yoga Etiquette

It is of the utmost importance that you let the instructor know any medical condition that may interfere with your yoga practice, to include but not limited to pregnancy, glaucoma, hypertension and any current injury.

Please enter studio quietly when classes are in-session. You can wait to sign-in, pay, etc. when previous class has ended.

No shoes or cell phones in yoga room.

Have water available during and after any class.

What if I have never taken a yoga class before?

We are pleased to offer classes for all skill-levels. Please see the Class Descriptons to assist you in the choice of a best-class for your needs.  We also offer an Introduction-to-Yoga series to get you up to speed on the basics (see Workshops for this series.)

What if it is my first class at Yoga Sanctuary?

You can save time by completing your new student registration online before coming to the studio. Email us if you have questions.

We are located at 1400 East B Street in Belleville, IL. There is a parking lot south of the building on N Michigan Avenue.  There is also curbside parking on B-street.

Give yourself an extra 10 minutes to verify your student registration, pay for classes and orient yourself to the studio space.

What to bring to class?

All you need to bring to class is a yoga mat and your willingness to learn and practice yoga. We do have yoga mats in the studio, free of charge, if you do not own a mat.  We encourage our students to have their own mat for practice.

What to wear?

Wear clothes that are comfortable and will allow you to move freely without constriction. We suggest form-fitting shirts, tanks, shorts or pants as in some yoga poses loose fitting clothes tend to get in the way. (No jeans please).  We also practice yoga in your bare-feet.

How to pay for classes?

You can pay for classes, class packages and workshops in advance on our Purchase Classes page.

You can also pay in studio via cash, check, or credit card. Just come to the class of your choice and pay when you arrive.

How early should I get to class?

Allow yourself time to transition from the bustle of the day to the calm studio space. Remember, there may be a class in-session when you arrive. Please enter quietly.

Do I need to “sign-up” for a specific class?

You can 'book' a specific class on-line.  It is not necessary to 'book' a class.  If you have a class-package and 'book' a class, one class will be deducted from your account once the class starts.  You can also 'book' a single-class and pay as a single-visit/drop-in of $17.00.

Once you purchase a class-package, you choose the class(s) that best fit your needs and schedule.  Always look at the weekly lass schedule for the most up-to-date classes.

Workshop are not included in a class-package.  These special classes usually require registration and are listed under the WORKSHOPS tab.

When does my class card expire?

A class-package is good for 30-days from the day you take the first class of the purchased block of classes. Purchase the number of classes you will attend in a 30-day period.  It is our goal to keep you from over-purchasing and we can help you decide what is realistic for your schedule.

How do I know if class is canceled?

The schedule page will show a class as grayed out (i.e. much lighter than the other classes) if that class has been canceled on a given date.

For questions about last minute cancellations, check our Facebook page. We will update it if we have to cancel classes due to weather issues. We will also update the voicemail, if you call the studio for this information.

In questionable weather please use your best judgement.
